Hand assembled and tuned by passionate British Game Call innovator
Seeking inspiration, Tricky Pink founder looked to America where calling is its own sport, and he was astounded by how far off the mark the UK market were in terms of materials and techniques. Short reeds, cutdown calls, shaved reeds, tone holes – so much to learn and develop for the UK wildfowl hunters.
We at Lucky Hunter are proud to introduce the excellent handmade and hand-tuned acrylic game calls from Tricky Pink Decoys to the European market
Made using the best materials available; The brass headpieces are individually made, fitted, and welded (not soldered) with a raw finish, while the mouthpiece is made from acrylic which is widely regarded as the best to use in wildfowl calls for the vastly superior sounds the material produces.
The brass head simply fits into the mouthpiece via an O-ring seal, making it possible to take the call completely apart to clean if debris gets stuck somewhere it shouldn’t, producing a call that lasts and ages with you.
How to use:
- Simply inhale “Whee-oooo” or a slower “Wip-weu” into the call in an excited sporadic pattern simulating a group of Wigeon ducks
- Start out loud to get their attention, then reducing the volume as they approach to reduce the chance of discovery / spooking the birds
- If the wigeon are particularly pressured / reluctant in the late season to come in, and you find they continue to spin above you but not commit to land, then use some quick / excited short and sharp inhales strung together in a random pattern to imitate excited male birds competing for food or females can work wonders.
